The difference between Claret and Hock

When used as nouns, claret means a dry red wine produced in the bordeaux region of france, or a similar wine made elsewhere, whereas hock means a rhenish wine, of a light yellow color, either sparkling or still, from the hochheim region.

When used as verbs, claret means to drink claret, whereas hock means to disable by cutting the tendons of the hock.
