The difference between Chubby and Tubby

When used as nouns, chubby means a chubby, plump person, whereas tubby means an overweight person.

When used as adjectives, chubby means of a person, slightly overweight, somewhat fat, and hence soft, plump, and rounded, whereas tubby means stout, rotund.
