The difference between Characteristic and Trademark

When used as nouns, characteristic means a distinguishing feature of a person or thing, whereas trademark means a word, symbol, or phrase used to identify a particular company's product and differentiate it from other companies' products.

When used as adjectives, characteristic means being a distinguishing feature of a person or thing, whereas trademark means distinctive, characteristic, signature.


Trademark is also verb with the meaning: to register something as a trademark.
