The difference between Body double and Understudy
When used as nouns, body double means a film stand-in for an actor, in scenes not involving the face, especially during scenes of nudity, or of dangerous activity, whereas understudy means a performer who understudies.
Understudy is also verb with the meaning: to study or know a role to such an extent as to be able to replace the normal performer when required.
