The difference between Bird and Fowl

When used as nouns, bird means a member of the class of animals aves in the phylum chordata, characterized by being warm-blooded, having feathers and wings usually capable of flight, and laying eggs, whereas fowl means a bird.

When used as verbs, bird means to observe or identify wild birds in their natural environment, whereas fowl means to hunt fowl.


Fowl is also adjective with the meaning: foul.
