The difference between Beginning and First

When used as nouns, beginning means the act of doing that which begins anything, whereas first means the person or thing in the first position.

When used as adjectives, beginning means of or relating to the first portion of some extended thing, whereas first means preceding all others of a series or kind.


First is also adverb with the meaning: before anything else.
