The difference between Antecedent and Ascendant
When used as nouns, antecedent means any thing that precedes another thing, especially the cause of the second thing, whereas ascendant means being in control.
When used as adjectives, antecedent means earlier, either in time or in order, whereas ascendant means rising, moving upward.
