The difference between Affiliate and Sister

When used as nouns, affiliate means someone or something, especially, a television station, that is associated with a larger, related organization, such as a television network, whereas sister means a daughter of the same parents as another person.

When used as verbs, affiliate means to adopt, whereas sister means to strengthen (a supporting beam) by fastening a second beam alongside it.
