If a satellite image claims to show a strike on a specific city on Tuesday at noon, check the historical weather data. If the image shows clear skies but the local weather station reported heavy cloud cover or rain, the image is a total fabrication. It happens more often than you'd think.

The Fight for the Truth from Above

We're in an arms race. On one side, we have generative models getting better every month. On the other, we have companies like Sentinel Hub and researchers developing "digital watermarking" for satellite sensors. The idea is that the satellite itself signs the image with a cryptographic key the moment it's captured. If even one pixel is changed, the signature breaks.
