The difference between Work and Writing
When used as nouns, work means employment. labour, occupation, job. the place where one is employed. one's employer, whereas writing means graphism of symbols such as letters that express some meaning.
Work is also verb with the meaning: followed by in (or at, etc.) said of one's workplace (building), or one's department, or one's trade (sphere of business).

Work as a noun (uncountable):
Employment. Labour, occupation, job. The place where one is employed. One's employer
