The difference between Spaced out and Spread out
When used as adjectives, spaced out means in a confused or oblivious mental state, for example as a result of drug-taking, whereas spread out means far apart, not close to each other - far apart, extended over an expanse of space or time.
Spread out is also verb with the meaning: become further apart.
