The difference between Sojourn and Tarry

When used as nouns, sojourn means a short stay somewhere, whereas tarry means a sojourn.

When used as verbs, sojourn means to reside somewhere temporarily, especially as a guest or lodger, whereas tarry means to delay.


Tarry is also adjective with the meaning: resembling tar.
