The difference between Short-staffed and Shorthanded
When used as adjectives, short-staffed means not having sufficient members of staff, whereas shorthanded means lacking sufficient staff or people, as for normal or efficient operations.
Shorthanded is also adverb with the meaning: in a shorthanded manner.
