The difference between Radio and Wireless

When used as nouns, radio means the technology that allows for the transmission of sound or other signals by modulation of electromagnetic waves, whereas wireless means the medium of radio communication.

When used as verbs, radio means to use two-way radio to transmit (a message) (to another radio or other radio operator), whereas wireless means to send a message by wireless (by radio).


Wireless is also adjective with the meaning: not having any wires.
