The difference between Quiet and Quieten
When used as verbs, quiet means to become quiet, silent, still, tranquil, calm, whereas quieten means to make quiet.
Quiet is also interjection with the meaning: be quiet.
Quiet is also noun with the meaning: the absence of sound.
Quiet is also adjective with the meaning: with little or no sound.
