The difference between Proposition and Statement
When used as nouns, proposition means the act of offering (an idea) for consideration, whereas statement means a declaration or remark.
When used as verbs, proposition means to make a suggestion of sexual intercourse to (someone with whom one is not sexually involved), whereas statement means to provide an official document of a proposition, especially in the uk a statement of special educational needs.
