The difference between Posterior and Prior
When used as nouns, posterior means the buttocks, whereas prior means a high-ranking member of a monastery, usually lower in rank than an abbot.
When used as adjectives, posterior means located behind, or towards the rear of an object, whereas prior means advance.
Prior is also adverb with the meaning: previously.
