The difference between Pig and Sow

When used as nouns, pig means any of several intelligent mammalian species of the genus sus, having cloven hooves, bristles and a nose adapted for digging, whereas sow means a female pig.

When used as verbs, pig means to give birth, whereas sow means to scatter, disperse, or plant (seeds).
