The difference between Permanent and Transient

When used as nouns, permanent means a chemical hair treatment imparting or removing curliness, whose effects typically last for a period of weeks, whereas transient means something which is transient.

When used as adjectives, permanent means without end, eternal, whereas transient means passing or disappearing with time.


Permanent is also verb with the meaning: to perm (the hair).
