The difference between Nig-nog and Nog

When used as nouns, nig-nog means a foolish person, whereas nog means a wooden block, the size of a brick, built into a wall, as a hold for the nails of woodwork.


Nog is also verb with the meaning: to fill in, as between scantling, with brickwork.
