The difference between Nationwide and Statewide

When used as adverbs, nationwide means throughout a nation, whereas statewide means throughout a state (political subdivision of a federal union).

When used as adjectives, nationwide means extending throughout an entire nation, whereas statewide means happening in or affecting an entire state (political subdivision of a federal union).


Statewide is also noun with the meaning: an agency or association operating through a state (political subdivision).
