The difference between Massive and Overwhelming

When used as nouns, massive means a homogeneous mass of rock, not layered and without an obvious crystal structure, whereas overwhelming means a situation of being overwhelmed.

When used as adjectives, massive means of or pertaining to a large mass, whereas overwhelming means overpowering, staggering, or irresistibly strong.
