The difference between Manipulator and Marionette
When used as nouns, manipulator means agent noun of manipulate, whereas marionette means a puppet, usually made of wood, which is animated by the pulling of strings.
Marionette is also verb with the meaning: to control (somebody) as if they were a puppet.
