The difference between Lesion and Sore

When used as nouns, lesion means a wound or injury, whereas sore means an injured, infected, inflamed or diseased patch of skin.

When used as verbs, lesion means to wound or injure, especially in an experiment or other controlled procedure, whereas sore means to mutilate the legs or feet of (a horse) in order to induce a particular gait.
