The difference between Leaf and Stile

When used as nouns, leaf means the usually green and flat organ that represents the most prominent feature of most vegetative plants, whereas stile means a set of one or more steps surmounting a fence or wall, or a narrow gate or contrived passage through a fence or wall, which in either case allows people but not livestock to pass.


Leaf is also verb with the meaning: to produce leaves.
