The difference between Joint and Pivot
When used as nouns, joint means the point where two components of a structure join, but are still able to rotate, whereas pivot means a thing on which something turns.
When used as verbs, joint means to unite by a joint or joints, whereas pivot means to turn on an exact spot.
Joint is also adjective with the meaning: done by two or more people or organisations working together.
