The difference between Irregular and Regular

When used as nouns, irregular means a soldier who is not a member of an official military force and, often, does not follow regular army tactics, whereas regular means a member of the british army (as opposed to a member of the territorial army or reserve).

When used as adjectives, irregular means nonstandard, whereas regular means bound by religious rule.

Regular is also adverb with the meaning: regularly, on a regular basis.
