The difference between Image and Picture
When used as nouns, image means an optical or other representation of a real object, whereas picture means a representation of anything (as a person, a landscape, a building) upon canvas, paper, or other surface, by drawing, painting, printing, photography, etc.
When used as verbs, image means to represent by an image or symbol, whereas picture means to represent in or with a picture.
