The difference between Hamstring and Hough

When used as nouns, hamstring means one of the great tendons situated in each side of the ham, or space back of the knee, and connected with the muscles of the back of the thigh, whereas hough means the hollow behind the knee.

When used as verbs, hamstring means to lame or disable by cutting the tendons of the ham or knee, whereas hough means to hamstring.
