The difference between Generic and Indefinite

When used as nouns, generic means a product sold under a generic name, whereas indefinite means a word or phrase that designates an unspecified or unidentified person or thing or group of persons or things.

When used as adjectives, generic means very comprehensive, whereas indefinite means without limit.
