The difference between Freeze up and Seize up
When used as verbs, freeze up means (of machines and software) to come to a sudden halt, stop working (functioning), whereas seize up means to stop functioning.

Freeze up as a verb (intransitive):
(of machines and software) To come to a sudden halt, stop working (functioning).
Examples:
"Since the last update, the program freezes up after a few minutes of use."
