The difference between Floor plan and Plan

When used as nouns, floor plan means a diagram, usually to scale, showing the layout of a building, whereas plan means a drawing showing technical details of a building, machine, etc., with unwanted details omitted, and often using symbols rather than detailed drawing to represent doors, valves, etc.


Plan is also verb with the meaning: to design (a building, machine, etc.).
