The difference between Feed and Food

When used as nouns, feed means food given to (especially herbivorous) animals, whereas food means any solid substance that can be consumed by living organisms, especially by eating, in order to sustain life.


Feed is also verb with the meaning: to give (someone or something) food to eat.
