The difference between Expecting and Pregnant

When used as nouns, expecting means the process by which somebody expects something, whereas pregnant means a pregnant woman.

When used as adjectives, expecting means of a woman or female animal, in expectation of giving birth, whereas pregnant means carrying developing offspring within the body. expecting a baby together.
