The difference between Dwarf and Giant

When used as nouns, dwarf means any member of a race of beings from (especially scandinavian and other germanic) folklore, usually depicted as having some sort of supernatural powers and being skilled in crafting and metalworking, often as short with long beards, and sometimes as clashing with elves, whereas giant means a mythical human of very great size.

When used as adjectives, dwarf means miniature, whereas giant means very large.


Dwarf is also verb with the meaning: to render (much) smaller, turn into a dwarf (version).
