The difference between Dummy and Mannequin
When used as nouns, dummy means a silent person, whereas mannequin means a dummy, or life-size model of the human body, used for the fitting or displaying of clothes.
Dummy is also verb with the meaning: to make a mock-up or prototype version of something, without some or all off its intended functionality.
