The difference between Drop cap and Versal
When used as nouns, drop cap means a large initial letter that drops below the first line of a paragraph, usually used at the beginning of a section or chapter of a book, whereas versal means ornamental letter that begins a section.
Versal is also adjective with the meaning: universal.
