The difference between Doubt and Suspect

When used as nouns, doubt means uncertainty, disbelief, whereas suspect means a person who is suspected of something, in particular of committing a crime.

When used as verbs, doubt means to lack confidence in, whereas suspect means to imagine or suppose (something) to be true, or to exist, without proof.


Suspect is also adjective with the meaning: viewed with suspicion.
