The difference between Dissolvent and Solvent
When used as nouns, dissolvent means a substance which can dissolve or be dissolved into a liquid, whereas solvent means a liquid that dissolves a solid, liquid, or gaseous solute, resulting in a solution.
When used as adjectives, dissolvent means capable of dissolution into a fluid, whereas solvent means able to pay all debts as they become due, and having no more liabilities than assets.
