The difference between Despoil and Rape
When used as nouns, despoil means plunder, whereas rape means the taking of something by force.
When used as verbs, despoil means to deprive for spoil, whereas rape means to seize by force. (now often with overtones of later senses.).
Rape is also adverb with the meaning: quickly.
