The difference between Design and Device
When used as nouns, design means a plan (with more or less detail) for the structure and functions of an artifact, building or system, whereas device means any piece of equipment made for a particular purpose, especially a mechanical or electrical one.
Design is also verb with the meaning: to plan and carry out (a picture, work of art, construction etc.).
