The difference between Definition and Meaning

When used as nouns, definition means a statement of the meaning of a word or word group or a sign or symbol (dictionary definitions), whereas meaning means the entity, perception, feeling or concept thereby represented or evoked.


Meaning is also adjective with the meaning: having a (specified) intention.
