The difference between Defenceless and Vulnerable
When used as adjectives, defenceless means without defence, whereas vulnerable means open to disclosing one's inner thoughts and feelings, acting in spite of one's instinct to self-preservation.

Defenceless as an adjective:
Without defence; undefended.
Examples:
"Blind, deaf, and paralysed, the old man was [[defenceless]]; and the robbers easily stole all of his money."

Vulnerable as an adjective:
More or most likely to be exposed to the chance of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally. Open to disclosing one's inner thoughts and feelings, acting in spite of one's instinct to self-preservation.
Examples:
"You are vulnerable to be bullied by someone at school."
"It's okay to get vulnerable every now and again."

More likely to be exposed to malicious programs or viruses.
Examples:
"a vulnerable PC with no antivirus software"
