The difference between Crossword and Puzzle
When used as nouns, crossword means a word puzzle in which interlocking words are entered usually horizontally and vertically into a grid based on clues given for each word, whereas puzzle means anything that is difficult to understand or make sense of.
Puzzle is also verb with the meaning: to perplex (someone).
