The difference between Cord and Flex

When used as nouns, cord means a long, thin, flexible length of twisted yarns (strands) of fiber (rope, for example), whereas flex means flexibility, pliancy.

When used as verbs, cord means to furnish with cords, whereas flex means to bend something.
