The difference between Connoisseur and Specialist

When used as nouns, connoisseur means a specialist in a given field whose opinion is highly valued, especially in one of the fine arts or in matters of taste, whereas specialist means someone who is an expert in, or devoted to, some specific branch of study or research.


Specialist is also adjective with the meaning: specialised.
