The difference between Chronicle and Version

When used as nouns, chronicle means a written account of events and when they happened, ordered by time, whereas version means a specific form or variation of something.

When used as verbs, chronicle means to record in or as in a chronicle, whereas version means to keep track of (a file, document, etc.) in a versioning system.
