The difference between Century and Hundred

When used as nouns, century means a period of 100 consecutive years, whereas hundred means a hundred-dollar bill, or any other note denominated 100 (e.g. a hundred euros).


Hundred is also numeral with the meaning: a numerical value equal to 100 (102), occurring after ninety-nine.
