The difference between Celibate and Monk

When used as nouns, celibate means one who is not married, especially one who has taken a religious vow not to get married, usually because of being a member of a religious community, whereas monk means a male member of a monastic order who has devoted his life for religious service.

When used as verbs, celibate means to practice celibacy, whereas monk means to be a monk.
