The difference between Castle and Fort

When used as nouns, castle means a large building that is fortified and contains many defences, whereas fort means a fortified defensive structure stationed with troops.

When used as verbs, castle means to house or keep in a castle, whereas fort means to create a fort, fortifications, a strong point, or a redoubt.
